Director's Message

Welcome back and a happy new year to everyone!! It’s been great hearing all the holiday stories from students and teachers. We are looking forward to another full year of rich and exciting learning experiences in 2010.

•Welcome to the Mucci, Iscandri and Chikombero families that have joined us at AISF this quarter.

•Don’t forget to visit the school website and check out the slide show from our mid year musical program. Copies of the video and pictures (on CD) are available at the school for purchase at Le35,000 each. Please let us know if you are interested.

•After school activities continue as normal this week and will run until the end of this quarter (January 29, 2010).

•There is no school on Monday January 18, 2010 in honor of Martin Luther King day. We will host a Martin Luther King Day program on Friday January 15, 2010 at 11am.

•Mid Quarter reports will be sent home next Monday January 11, 2010. This report gives you an early indication of how your child is fairing in the various subjects before the actual report card.

•Round table discussions will be held January 19-22. This is a great time for parents and the class teacher to discuss what is happening in the classroom, plan class activities/trips and discuss important issues or concerns you may have. Schedules for the roundtable will be sent home next week.

•The PTO Class Representatives and I met before the holiday break to discuss and plan some upcoming activities and projects for this school year. Thanks to Mai Honkoop who has compiled all the information into a bulletin that will go out to the parents this week. Thanks again to our parent reps for volunteering to serve the school in this way.
