MINI ART GALLERY

The Art program at AISF always caters for all categories of learners. We encourage learners to demonstrate their thoughts and abilities in all forms of expressions including two-dimensional and three-dimensional art renderings.

Working on prescribed themes for each category of learners helps to give more meaning to our lessons and keep us on a more focused path.

One strange approach devised this year is to identify a strategic area where children's art works are permanently displayed. This has also exposed kids to some basic exhibition skills, and the ultimate ability to complete a task once started. Children will determine where their art works fit. The four basic thematic corners are labeled "Abstract Arts", "Nature Studies", "Portraits", and "Landscape". The others corners to be added will be Graphic Arts and crafts.

For this second quarter, "The reality in Sculpture" is a common theme for Kg-2nd. Grade. "Building on Dimensions" is the prescribed theme for 3rd -5th grades. *Applying the Principles* is the theme for 5th. - 7th grade students.

These themes act as the bases on which the teaching learning activities revolve. The contents are therefore tailored to meet some benchmarks. Amidst all other activities accomplished so far, we enjoyed Kindergarten discovery of colors. First grade produced paper puppets and dramatized with them. Second grade also dramatized with a two-faced puppet. Third graders will ever recall among other activities their skill to work with clay.  In the case of 6th -7th grade, "Mother and Child" was a challenging topic. It gave them the spirit to express their inner self. It gave rise to other self-titled paintings. One interesting one was "The Spirits of the Lions".

Spare some time now to come and view children*s art works at our newly established Art Gallery. You will say "Wahhoo!!".

We wish you a Merry Christmas.
