As a culminating activity they participated in a song,
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
(sung to the tune of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow")
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Be kind to Mother Earth.
Be kind to Mother Earth.
Be kind to Mother Earth.
(Repeat the first four lines.)
This unit has helped our preschoolers to appreciate our Natural world and learn the importance of taking care of Mother Earth.
Audrey Mason, Preschool Teacher
It is a busy time of the year in Social Studies and you can be a part of it. In the 4th and 5th grades we are wrapping up the Civil War with a live reenactment of the 1st and 2nd Battles of Bull Run. Please ask our generals Russell, Yankaday and Kudzaishe how it played out. Students will be writing a report on an African country focusing on environmental issues and geographic facts.
The 6th graders are very involved in building entire civilizations from the ground up. They are creating economic and political systems, religions, landscapes, social structures and much more. In the 7th grade a Medieval Society is being made through the stories of different roles that were key in that time period such as squires, guildsmen, priests, and noblewomen.
*After these students finish their projects, in June, every one of them will present their country, civilization or society. Please come support our kids at these. Ms. Mills, Social Studies Teacher
